Six years ago, I started writing seriously as a way to hold onto a little piece of myself as I became a stay-at-home mom. I’ve written several books since then, but I always found my way back to Riley and her story. It felt like there was something more there. Like she kept quietly pushing at me until I couldn’t ignore her anymore.

There were so many moments along the way filled with self-doubt.
Was this story good enough?
Would anyone actually want to read it?
Could I be disciplined enough to follow through with self-publishing?

But I kept coming back to these characters…their history, their partnership, their case…and I couldn’t shake the feeling that others might fall for them the way I did.

And now The Past We Thought We Knew is finally out in the world.

If you’ve been here through any part of this journey…supporting, encouraging, following along, or even just quietly watching…thank you. Truly, from the bottom of my heart. Your encouragement gave me the courage to push through the hard days more than you know.

This book holds a little piece of me and letting it go today feels equal parts exciting and terrifying.

But mostly? I’m just really, really grateful.
